So I'm finally starting to get back on my feet after what can only be defined as the single most crushing event in my work history. Nearly two months has passed since I was fired and I finally acquired a new job. By the grace of God...
I've found at this age, abruptly losing a job teaches you alot. First, it clearly stratifies who cares about you and who doesn't. I'm not certain exactly how they correlate, but they do. My family, surprising to me, rushed to my aid and showed genuine concern about me. Several people I considered friends almost entirely disappeared and I truly have no idea why. Second, it teaches you just how important savings can be. And third, it teaches you just how far a bag of rice and a small bottle of soy sauce can actually go to feed a grown man.
And so it's with this not-quite-blank slate that I decided to do the hip thing and start a blog of my thoughts. I cannot promise it will be interesting or amusing. I can only promise that the thoughts here are true and accurate. That's the best anyone can do, really.
